Nepal is the home to the World's highest peak Mount Everest also known as SAGARMATHA and CHOMOLUNGMA in the Nepali and Tibetan languages respectively. Mount Everest was first identified in the year 1941 and was known as Peak XV during the Great Trigonometrical Survey of the Himalayas. In 1956 Peak XV was declared as World's highest peak and later on, it was given the name of Colonel George Everest who led the survey but never saw the mountain. Basically, there are 18 climbing routes to Everest but there are only two routes used to summit Mount Everest one from South-eastern Nepal known as the standard route, and the other from the north of Tibet.

In the year 1954, the height of Mount Everest was measured by India. Everest grows by nearly a meter is the new talk of the world and travelers from all across the globe would love to see that peak and be captivated by it.

 

Mount Everest was first summited by Sir Edmund Hillary, a mountaineer from New Zealand, and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa in the year 1953. However, the first attempt to summit Everest was made by British mountaineers in the early '90s from Northern Tibet as Nepal’s border was not open for foreign tourists.

 

Mount Everest is one of the longest expedition journeys full of adventure, challenges, and opportunities. The expedition will take you around 63 days in the remote Himalayas of Nepal. The expedition will take you to the highest point on earth. For the expedition, you will need to have an experience of climbing any peaks above 6000 meters. You should also be physically fit.

The ratio of Everest summit to death is 29:1. 4,833 people have summited Everest 8,306 times. However, 288 people have died due to avalanche, exposure, or altitude sickness.

Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu Airport

 

Arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport. Welcome, airport assistance, and hotel transfer by our airport representative. You will be briefly guided about the hotel, city, trek route, and gears on the very night.

 

Welcome drink and dinner with a cultural program. O/N stay at a hotel in KTM.

 

Day 2:  Trek Preparation

 

On this day you are free to do your personal activities and prepare for the trek.

 

Evening drift around the heart of the city- Thamel, and dinner.

Day 3: Flight to Lukla and Trek to Phakding

 

After breakfast, we catch the flight to Lukla from TIA which is approximately 35-40 mins.

 

After landing in the Tenzing Hillary Airport, Lukla ( 2,860 meters) we start our hike to Phakding at an altitude of 2,610 meters. Basically, it takes us around 3-4 hours to reach Phakding (lying 8km towards north from Lukla) enjoying several beautiful mountains, pine forest, yak, donkeys, suspension bridges, rivers, and cultivated lands.  It will amaze you to see the beautiful fields cultivated with a variety of crops at such a high altitude.

Day 4: Trek to Namche

 

After breakfast, we head towards Namche Bazaar (3,500 meters) which is known as the gateway to Everest. The trek to Namche from Phakding is 12 km which will take you around 5-6 hours. Namche bazaar is a small village distinctly visualizing the hospitality of the Sherpa community. You will be amazed to know that 'the world's highest altitude pub is in Namache bazaar'. It also has plenty of stores for last-minute shopping of trekking gears, souvenirs, and Tibetan artifacts. It has its hydropower project for 24/7 electricity and good internet. Also, it has several bars, cafes, and restaurants at an affordable price.

Day 5: Acclimatization day

 

Acclimatization to a high altitude is very important to prevent altitude sickness.

 

The village Syangboche which is just a couple of hours' walk from Namche Bazaar is the landing spot for Everest ski-diving.

 

Instead of staying idle, we can enjoy the view from Everest View Hotel which is popular for its stunning view of Everest. We can spend the day in Sherpa Culture Museum and Everest Photo Gallery. And even play snooker.

Day 6: Trek to Tengboche

 

Tengboche located at an altitude of 3,867 meters approximately 5 hours of a hike from Namche is a beautiful village considered to be a mid-way station to the base camp with the panaronomic views of mountains: Everest, Twache, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Thamseku. The monastery of Tengboche is the largest monastery of the Khumbu region attracting a lot of tourists from all across the globe.

Day 7: Trek to Dingboche

 

Dengboche is situated at an altitude of 4,410 meters. The trek to Dengboche is led by yaks and beautiful Rhododendron forest which is approximate 6hrs i.e 10 km from Tengboche. The village has a flowing river towards the east named Imja the stones from the river have been used to build kilometers of walls, which is one of the attractions of the valley.

Day 8: Acclimatization day

 

With the increase in altitude, acclimatization becomes necessary. So, on acclimatization day, We can hike to Chukung height and Chukung village to explore the village and Sherpa culture even more.

Day 9: Trek to Lobuche

 

Lobuche is 9.5 km away from Dengboche situated at an altitude of 4910 meters which is an approximately 5 hours hike from Dengboche. The Lobuche village lies at the foot of the Khumbu glacier.

Day 10: Trek to Gorkhashep-EBC-Gorkhashep

 

We will hike to Gorkhashep from Lobuche which is 4km will take us around 3 hours. Gorkhashep is the base for the EBC so We will leave our belongings in Gorkhashep and hike to the Everest Base Camp.

 

And then return to Gorkhashep for an O/N stay.

 

Day 11:  Early morning trek to Kalapathar and back to Pheriche

 

The best view of Everest can be obtained from Kalapathar. So we will start our journey to Kalapathar before dawn which will take us 2 hours. Kalapathar offers a 360-degree panoramic view of the mountain with the golden sun rising from the mountains along with the Khumbu glacier.

 

After breakfast, we start our journey back to Pheriche via Lobuche.

 

Day 12: Descend to Namche

 

The trail back to Namche via Pheriche is filled with beautiful rhododendron and pine forests which is approximately 20 km that will take us around 6-7 hours.

 

Day 13: Hike back to Lukla

 

The trail descends from Namche Bazaar to Lukla with a distance of 19 km which will take 6-7 hours of walk. W     e will see a lot of beautiful forests and animals on the way to Namche.

Day 13: Lukla to Kathmandu

 

We will take an early morning flight to Kathmandu which will take approximately 35-40 mins. After reaching Kathmandu you are transferred to a hotel and your rest of the day is free.

 

On completion of the trek, we will host a dinner party.

 

Day 14: Final Departure

 

Our airport representative will assist you with the departure formalities.

 

The Everest expedition journey will commence from Everest Base Camp and will be a long climbing period in between four camps.
