Itinerary

  • Day 1 Arrival and transfer to hotel

    Arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport. Welcome, airport assistance, and hotel transfer by our airport representative. You will be briefly guided about the hotel, city, trek route, and gears on the very night.

  • Day 2 Kathmandu

    Free day for trek preparation.

  • Day 3 Flight to Nepalgunj

    The flight duration to Nepalgunj is 50 minutes.

  • Day 4 Flight to Juphal trekto Dunai

    The flight to Juphal is 35 minutes from Nepalgunj. And then we hike to Dunai (2150m) which is approximately 3 hours. Dunai is a small town and headquarters of the Dolpa district.

  • Day 5 Trek to Ankhe

    On this day, after breakfast, we trek to Ankhe which will approximately take us around 6 hours. We hike up following the path led by rivers, cultivated lands, pastures, and landscapes.

  • Day 6 Trek to Sulighat

    On this day, after breakfast, we trek to Sulighat. With the rise in elevation, we encounter rocky and stumbling paths. So we must walk carefully.

  • Day 7 Trek to Phoksundo lake

    On this day after breakfast, we walk for around 5 hours to reach Phoksundo lake, the freshwater oligotrophic lake in Nepal. On the way, we can see the highest waterfall in Nepal.

  • Day 8 Trek to Phoksundo khola

    On this day after breakfast, we continue our trek following the trail moving towards Phoksundo Khola from the lake. After walking for a couple of hours we camp in the valley itself.

  • Day 9 Trek to Phoksundo banjyang

    On this day after breakfast, we cross the river and hike towards the Phoksundo Bhanjyang, the highest point on the trek.

  • Day 10 Trek to Shey gumpa by kangla pass

    On this day after breakfast, we hike to Shey Gumpa via Kangla pass. This day will be a long climb. We cross the river, struggle with yaks to reach Shey Gumpa.

  • Day 11 Rest day at Shey gumpa

    Acclimatization day to prevent altitude sickness.

  • Day 12 Trek to Namduna gaun by salang la

    On this day our descending journey starts. The Namduna village is the highest human settlement in Nepal at an elevation of 4800 meters. The village is quite rich in cultural diversity.

  • Day 13 Trek to Saldang

    Saldang is a village in the trans- Himalayan region in the Upper Dolpa region. On this day after breakfast, we descend to Saldang village.

  • Day 14 Trek to Yanze gumpa

    On this day after breakfast, we hike to Yanze gumpa, a prehistoric Monastery in Upper Dolpa.

  • Day 15 Trek to Sibu

    On this day after breakfast, we descend to Sibu encompassing through different monasteries, villages, and inhabitants for about two or three hours.

  • Day 16 Trek to Jeng la phedi

    On this day after breakfast, we hike around 6 hours to reach Jeng La Phedi following the trail led by caravans.

  • Day 17 Trek to Jenla pass Takyu gaun

    On this day after breakfast, we hike to Takyu gaun which is the perfect destination to look for mountain ranges.

  • Day 18 Trek to Dho Tarap

    On this day after breakfast, we hike to Dho Tarap exploring Buddhism, landscapes, and valleys on the way to Dho Tarap.

  • Day 19 Rest day at Dho Tarap

    On this day we acclimatize to prevent altitude sickness.

  • Day 20 Trek to Tarap khark

    On this day after breakfast, we trek to Tarap Khola running down the valley.
    O/N stay at Rarap Khola.
