Overview

Manaslu( 8163m) is the eighth highest peak in the world that means mountain of the spirit. The Manaslu trekking route is approximately 177 km. The trekking trail is the ancient salt-trading route to Tibet.

The trek to Manaslu commences from Liding following the Budi Gandaki river in central Nepal. Next, we trek through some forest and camp at Maccha Khola. Following the day we camp at Jagat. Trekking 6 hrs approximately we reach Euwa experiencing beautiful sights of mountains. The next day we climb to Deng and Namrung gaining some altitude. Then we trek towards Sanagaon and explore the village. The next day is for acclimatization. We can also visit the Manaslu Base Camp this day. We trek through diverse landscapes from subtropical to high Himalayan passes. The Manaslu region is home to diverse wildlife with 33 different species of animals. On this trek, we pass through Larkya La pass which is the highest point on the trek with an altitude of 5135m. The Manaslu region is home to the Sherpas and the Gurungs and is one of the purest trekking routes Nepal has to offer due to its remoteness.

Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrival at TIA

    Arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport. Welcome, airport assistance, and hotel transfer by our airport representative. You will be briefly guided about the hotel, city, trek route, and gears on the very night.

  • Day 2: Half day sightseeing around Kathmandu

    On the second day, we linger around the Kathmandu Durbar Square and Swayambhunath Temple, the major UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu. Kathmandu Durbar Square is the home to the living

  • Day 3: Drive to Aru Ghat Bazzar

    Following the path lead by the Trishuli river, we reach Aru Ghat Bazaar in the Budhi Gandaki valley.

  • Day 4: Hike near Liding

    After approximately 6 hours of hike following the Budi Gandaki river, we reach Liding which is the rest point for the starting day of the trek. The path is easy as it is both an uphill hike and a downhill hike.

  • Day 5: Hike to Maccha River

    Maccha River translated into Fish river is one of the tributaries of the Budi Gandaki River. On the second day of the trek, we rest at the Maccha river. The trek is guided by the Budi Gandaki river along with some local tea shops, farms, and hamlets.

  • Day 6: Hike and camp at Jagat

    On day three of the trek, we rest at Jagat after around 6 hours of walk. The trekking route to Jagat is quite interesting as it is consists of a natural hot water spring, an intersection of two rivers (dovan), a few villages, and suspension bridges.

  • Day 7: Hike to Euwa

    After around 6 hours of walk from Jagat, we reach Euwa. On the hike to Euwa, we can catch an eye-pleasing view of Sringi Himal and beautiful waterfalls. On this path, we have to cross two suspension bridges and a gorge.

  • Day 8: Hike to Deng

    On the way to Deng, we enter into Buddhist area and we encounter a lot of prayer stones. The path to Deng is led by small settlements and scenic valleys. Approximately after 5 hours of hike, we tend to reach Deng.

  • Day 9: Hike to Namrung

    Namrung is around 5-6 hours the hike from Deng. Namrung is a Buddhist-influenced village with beautiful monasteries, prayer flags, and prayer stones reflecting the Buddhist culture. The valley widens from Namrung and the view is breathtaking.

  • Day 10: Hike to Samagaon

    On the way to Samagaon (3525m), we can see the mesmerizing beauty of Manaslu, Phungi, and Himalchuli, and Peak 29 mountains.
    Samagaon is a 3-4 hours walk from Namrung so we explore the village after lunch.

  • Day 11: Acclimatization day

    Acclimatization is important to prevent altitude sickness. So, we explore the village on this day.

  • Day 12: Hike to Samdo

    Samdo (3860m) is the last settlement area in the Manaslu round trek which is approximately 3 hours up from Samagaon. With the increase in altitude, the view of Manaslu becomes more beautiful and eye-pleasing.

  • Day 13: Hike to the small lodge

    Moving ahead from Samdo we hike towards a small lodge(4450m ), which is the last camping site before Larkya pass. On this day we encounter a deserted village Larkya Bazzar which stopped trading with Tibet.

  • Day 14: Climb to Larkya Pass

    Larkya Pass (5213m) is the highest point on the trek with mesmerizing views of Larkya Peak, Annapurna 2, Kang Guru, and Himlung Himal.
    After 7-8 hours of walk, we rest at Bimthang (3890m ) for the night.

  • Day 15: Descend to Tilje

    We descend to Tilje from Bimthang to join the Annapurna Circuit trail the very next day.

  • Day 16: Descend to Dharapani

    We follow the Marshyangdi river south from Dharapani for the Annapurna Circuit trail.

  • Day 17: Descend t Chyamje

    We descend towards Chyamje from Dharapani

  • Day 18: Camping at Bhulebule

    On the last day of the trek, we come across several teahouses and trekkers around the Annapurna circuit trail.

  • Day 19: Drive to Kathmandu

    After the completion of the trek at Besisahar, we drive back to Kathmandu.

  • Day 20: Final departure

    Our airport representative will guide you to the airport for the departure formalities.
